Shyleen Frost

Postdoctoral Fellow

Kane Lab

Frost completed her Ph.D. in the Heinrich Lab at the University of California, Riverside. Her thesis work, rooted in unraveling the complexities of high-altitude hypoxia’s phenotypic plasticity, delved into ventilatory acclimatization and its implications on sleep quality and cognitive function among sojourners. However, the crux of her research was in analyzing epigenetic patterns, including DNA methylation and histone modifications, during human exposure to high altitude acclimatization, adaptation, and evolution.

Building upon this groundwork, her current position in the Kane lab offers an opportunity to unravel the complicated language of epigenetics including DNA methylation, histone modifications, and chromatin structure, and their relationship with frailty and sex differences in aging.
